Friday night at Cape Town Stadium witnessed a classic tale of two halves as the Stormers roared back from a halftime deficit to defeat the Ospreys 26-10. Despite missing out on a bonus point for try-scoring, the Stormers' second-half performance was nothing short of dominant, especially following their emphatic 35-0 win over Leinster last week. Meanwhile, the Ospreys, still licking their wounds from a high-scoring defeat to the Bulls, started strong but couldn't hold the fort against the Stormers' onslaught.

The game kicked off with the Ospreys setting a rapid pace, as scrumhalf Kieran Hardy sneaked through for an early try. Not to be outdone, Stormers’ number eight Evan Roos responded by grounding a perfectly placed cross-kick from flyhalf Jurie Matthee, leveling the scores. However, the Welsh side wasn't done yet. From a scrum, Dan Kasend broke through, setting up Hardy for his second, pushing the Ospreys to a 10-5 lead.

Despite missing an easy penalty, Matthee redeemed himself just before the break, narrowing the gap to 10-8. As the second half unwound, Matthee's boot came alive, adding six crucial points. Then, in a flash of brilliance, fullback Wandisile Simelane dazzled, bookending a spectacular move with a try that had the crowd erupting in cheers.

"Jurie ‘Ben 10’ Matthee is cooking in Cape Town once again."

As the match neared its conclusion, replacement flank Paul de Villiers bulldozed over from a lineout maul, effectively sealing the game for the Stormers. In a last-ditch effort to secure a bonus point, the Stormers pushed for one more try, but a knock-on in the dying seconds kept the scoreline at 26-10.

Looking ahead, the Stormers are set to visit the Scarlets in Wales, hoping to continue their winning streak, while the Ospreys will aim to regroup against Zebre at home.

"We didn’t want to get rid of Manie," noted Stormers coach, hinting at strategic decisions behind the scenes.
