The 'Bomb Squad' are back - how South Africa's replacement forwards clinched the second Test

Had a good game yesterday. I have long maintained that he is better at loosehead.
The Bok scrum was more dominant yesterday than it has been the whole season so far.

Still, being able to play at loosehead and tighthead, could be better for a 4/3 bench split.
However, if he covered both positions, he may have to be listed as a replacement tighthead for safety protocols.

Nykane solves the problem if OX is injured, allowing Marx to start in a diverse front row.
Although Bongi also had a decent game.

The loosehead props for the world cup are most likely
1. Kitshoff
2. Ox
3. Nyakane

Tightheads:
1. Flab Malherbe (He seems out of form)
2. Thomas Du Tank
3. Koch.

Originally I saw Koch as a placeholder, but he has gotten better over time.
He seems very professional and focused. A good impact player.

I thought Du Tanks' performance yesterday was better than anything from Flab Malherbe this season.

Ja, props are like good red wine. They get better with age. I’m surprised that we didn’t see more of him. Our front row held up well against the lions when it was Trev, Bong and Ox. They are much shorted but apparently extremely good scrummagers. Trev got through a lot of work over the weekend. It is a good sign going forward. Still worried about Ox.

However, I still do t think any of these can play an entire game.

But to have actually two props on your bench that can both loose head and tight is worth it.

Kittshoff and Marx are our fittest front row that can play all the way into extra time
