I don't know what you okes think but looks like there are more reports coming out in the press about the English wanting to merge the URC. One of the biggest drivers are the welsh sides. In theory, they would like to join England because it would give them better travel and closer link to the English teams.

In all honesty, if the Prem wasn't on the ropes we would never been having the conversation.

I don't think it will work. The reason is that URC are provincial teams where as the English game is a pure club team that is linked to cities and not counties.

England is stuck with this football like structure, neither have they had any teams being promoted due to their strict club financial rules as well as the stadiums clubs have play from. For example, Ealing Trail finders is the best in the 2nd tier league, but they can't get promotion because they don't have the infrastructure to host large crowds.

But then you look at Wales and you look if you can get 7 000 people at a game.

On one hand I like the idea of promotion relegation but on the other hand, I would be more than happy for Wales to leave. It would make it a proper super 12. We could even throw in 2 extra teams from SA.

Scotland and Ireland has some decent teams, then Benneton whipped the Saarks behinds over the weekend. So plenty of competition around without the whining Welsh.
