As the Wallabies gear up for their next Rugby Championship battle, winger Harry Potter acknowledges the momentum boost from recent triumphs, yet remains cautious of the potent Argentine squad. Coming off stirring performances against the British and Irish Lions and the Springboks, Australia seems poised but Potter underscores the looming challenge posed by Los Pumas.

“No doubt that’s been a shot in the arm getting that first win (in South Africa) and playing reasonably well in that second game as well, although not getting the result, put a bit of wind in the sails for the upcoming Test match,” Potter shared his optimism, yet tempered by reality.

"They have got some serious threats there"

Argentina's recent historic victory over the Lions and a subsequent win against the All Blacks have clearly signaled their rising prowess. Potter pinpointed the specific areas where Los Pumas could pose a significant threat, particularly highlighting their agility and aerial skills. “A slick backline altogether and they have also got some real ability to get ball back in the air... they are quick wingers, they get up in the air and win that aerial battle, did a lot of the time against the All Blacks,” he noted.

The dynamics of the game have evolved, especially with recent law changes affecting play, something Potter and his team are acutely aware of. “That is going to be a large part of the game, at least for myself as an outside back, something that we’re going to have to be conscious of in that space, but the boys are doing a really good job with that at the moment,” he added.

Potter's return to the lineup comes at a crucial time, especially with Dylan Pietsch sidelined due to injury. “I’m stoked to be back in the squad,” Potter expressed. His enthusiasm is palpable, especially after the enforced break due to a hamstring injury. The winger shared his experience of engaging with the team's performances remotely, emphasizing the dramatic and rewarding nature of international rugby.

As the Wallabies prepare to face Argentina in Townsville, the anticipation and stakes are high. Both teams have shown they can pull off significant upsets, setting the stage for what promises to be a compelling encounter.
