Rassie made 10 changes to the team that played the week before. It was a nervy start but in the end the Boks maul got is over the line. Our scrum wasn't performing in the first half and then with both Ausie props going off in the 2nd, we ended up with uncontested scrums. Weather did help either which made the conditions even harder to play in.

Who do you think made it and who do you think let themselves down. Weather aside, players need to play in all conditions. Rugby is a winter sport after all.

Jan Hendrik, few scrum penalties and we had no dominance. Quiet around the park.

Grobbies, nightmare texts start, couldn't find his jumpers, general play was okay but had no ball carry dominance.

Thomas Du Toit , verry quiet game and same as Jan Hendrik

Moerat, lasted less then 20 min and had no impact or leadership. This games was his to dominate given the weather.

Nortje, thought he had a good game. Still room for improvement

Van Staden, played the entire game and got a try. Not as flashy but got through a lot of work on the ground. May not have the speed of Kolisi but did the job of a hard grafter.

Louw, coughed up the ball a few times, very bland performance and no dominance.

Ha den berg, probably on of the worst players on the park. Poor box kicks, struggled to get the ball away and made too many errors. Pressure got to him

Zulu, darling of the media, but he dropped the ball from the bread basket after a kolbe pass and a certain try. Not a great day out for the young player and the wet weather, like Manie has proved to be his Kryptonite.

Am at 12 was okay but not dominant

Fassi, made no errors, not as creative as Willie but played well under the high ball, good defence and the also scored a superb try.

He is a lethal strike runner with good skills and should be used as such. Probably wing is better for him

What is your take on this bunch. Do we have future stars from this team ?

Most players - bar  FM - are fringe players abd a given an opportunity to play test rugby - but the conditons under which the match was played impacr badly on the issue of  performance by some players.    In essense it is not advisable to evaluate player performances based on one match.

None of he performers - bar  FM and Fassi will be involved in the  tests against the AB's.

By th way that Fassi try would necver have been scored by Le Roux - he does not have the pace to score a try like that one.

Bokke v Wallabies 2 Test

Given the conditions and the scratch side it would be completely short sighted to judge players

The Bok scrum to their credit looked to have the slight edge without asserting dominance. That penalty against Wessels was bullshit, the ref originally had the call in our favour then changed it thanks to the ignorant touch judge call.

Nortje was ok he is another Mostert but a better rugby player and is at least trying to bulk up

PSDT stood tall once again, Elrigh Louw had an off night but that was mostly due to spilling the slippery ball.

I don’t really rate v Staaden another dumb muscle player no finesse

I thought vd Bergh was ok given the conditions. Sacha was good again, dropping a sitter or the over kick did not define his game.

Am made no impression at 12 but it was not a day for backs to shine. Kriel was good again as were the back 3

All in all the conditions and the no contest scrums turned the game into a strange one where player judgement would be unfair

The weather, torrential downpour & a shitty pitch that was apparently kak even before the storm struck ......... uncontested scrums didn't help either.
