Wiese had his best game of the season so far against Tonga. He is a powerful unit that welcomes collisions. He seems to form a maul every time he is tackled because he just continues to go forward. His support binds onto his arms and pushes him until the opposition eventually pulls him down.

Some have said he is a dumb muscle including yours truly, but when he is playing well he does show some decent skills.

Wiese is a very consistently good performer. He receives too much unfounded criticism. Over the past three years he is one of the best Boks. Im not surprised by this as he showed his worth immediately upon being thrown into a Lions series. The good Boks show early. Also, he is much smarter than most of the current team. It's not a very intelligent Bok team historically speaking, but even so, he is not the dumb oaf some have made him out to be. Our dumbest tends to be the most praised.

If he could add some steals at the breakdown and a little more passing he could be the heir to Vermuelen.

Vermuelen was not very noticeable in the game. He played it very tight, not sure if that was the plan or just how it turned out. Stephanie will feel secure though, given Vermuelen was at 7 most of the game.

Giving Vermuelen and Kolisi a whole match may have been planned as they now have 2 weeks rest-

He had a good game probably his best ever I wouldn't get carried away. Be great if he and Van Staden who also had a good game can step up a notch into the next one.

He looks like dumb muscle but I said after his very first cap that there was nothing dumb about him.

He gave away a penalty doing something silly and i believe that's where everybody jumped on the dumb muscle bandwagon.

His best ever? Not quite. These people jumped on him for a few silly things, but look what they have accepted. Far, far worse. It doesn't make sense. I've never seen a more dishonest and clueless era of Bok rugby.

Yeah, I thought he was good against Tonga but it wasn't what I'd call his best performance.
