First, the answer: no. Trashing means more than the heavy defeat that is expected to come from the game: it has a humiliating tune to it.
Rugby is a highly political game and it wont in IR's best interests to do so.

Two key elements explain the disaster against FR: the English players'determination to behave and the French players'determination to concede nothing.

The first element was a complete surprise that set the prediction about the game off. Up to now, the English players were used to act as bullies to their opponents.
With leniency from refs. Dropping the mentality looks like a major move as the U20 team showed the same display. It may be here to endure. A tremendous change in the English approach to the game.
The level of swearing was at all times low and it was hard to witness trademark moves. Like for example punishing  players for scoring tries.
No attempt. English players for example used to tackle players who were about to score whereas having no chance of defending in a sort of last ditch effort.
Goal: hurting the tackled player under the cover of the rules.
During the game, English players never tried the move once, they had opportunities but they preferred to acknowledge they were well beaten and had no chance of preventing the try. They behaved sportly, a major change.
All in all, they gave up on riling theirs opponents up and it shows. Big loss in efficiency. Looks like a long term decision, a big change and it is expected  they keep behaving against IR. Which will lead to the same results.

The second element was the utter French determination to make the most out of the game. They were callous, closed to the English plea. The uncompromizing attitude led to
that magnificent first phase try, a rare occurrence in the international games. Scored late in the game. They never had enough.
They wanted to put as many nails as possible to the English coffin.

English players are expected to behave during their game against IR, IR players, on their side, are also expected to  commiserate, they will give more room to the English for not being humiliated. IR is expected to win the game, heavily but without a humiliating manner.

It’s thrash, not trash.

Ireland have been trashing us for centuries:)

And perhaps a bit of vice versa, the term Irish Mick never originated in Ireland… nor did dirty Boer, Kraut, Frog and a number of other friendly handles.

Irish pronunciation of thrash would be 'trash' methinks.  Hey Stav.

Oh I don’t call anyone names, Mozart.

I suspect that Ireland will win as they are a more composed unit….But England can’t be counted out completely.

Oh Ireland will win. I’d expect a bit of a thrashing, Mpower.

Becs when I lived  in Athens, I joined an ex Pat club with probably 80% English membership. These chaps would disparage the Greeks even though the Greek barman behind the counter serving them drinks  could hear every word they said. I think those days are somewhat over, but they were shockingly bad.

Disgusting, Mozart.

I’ve never used any disparaging terms for any nationality.

Let’s hope those days are, as you said, over.

Never irritate your waiter or your barman.

Or your waitress !

It's an awkward one. England could do a Liverpool and come out of the gate like hellfire, but I don't see the Irish lacking the necessary poise and focus to let that happen. The Irish are very organised and disciplined, whereas the English are making the most horrific schoolboy errors. They lack focus at key points, allow themselves to be manipulated on defence with passive movement, and don't have any cohesion on attack. One would expect there are three tries there for Ireland if they apply themselves. We won't see another collapse like we saw against the French. It was a rude awakening and the English should at least show some hunger.
