Esterhuizen who made 60 metres in 7 runs, a clean break, 4 defenders beaten and an offload……proved that a big part of our backline problem is the guy who regularly makes 3 metres a run. Supposedly because that’s all that is possible.

No chance - De Allende is the first choice 12 and Esterhuizen was on the sidelines since 2019. H is just a ba
ck up for De Allende .
Let's hope.
How long has it been since a player came on the scene and you felt as though you were witnessing the start of something special?
I count 3 in recent memory.
Marx, RG and.......Moodie.
I'm saying it now, this kid will be an all time Bok great. He has everything I like in a player and that one special thing that every sports fan recognises as a sign of greatness...time seems to slow down when he's on the ball.
That ice-cool hyper-efficiently that simply can't be taught.
It's a no-brainier that AE should be his partner.
How any any Bok fan can't see that is a mystery to me.
Pollard is in training, and will be declared match-fit before the final Squad is announced.
AM will probably have to wait for an injury if he is going to get a call-up.
AM also has lots of experience at the Sharks with Esterhuizen.
So outside center is still open, I just hope Delande is not the first choice inside center.
I am confused , I thought the final squad was already announced and only injury can get Pollard or am in the squad?
de Allende is the best 12 in the game - it’s a no brainer that he starts
Kriel will start at 13 unfortunately, it should be Moodie after his performance against NZ
He offers opportunities, Kriel is solid
Mpower, the official squad only needs to be announced a week before the tournament kicks off. Most teams should have announced their teams by next week.
Pollard has been declared fit to practise, but not play matches. However, it is imminent that he will be declared a match-fit.
So, Pollard has a good chance of making the cut. That would mean a scrumhalf has to be cut.
AM is not yet fit to practise in training, but will be another 3 weeks or so before match fitness is reached.
Both players are travelling with the squad right now.
An injury will almost certainly happen, and AM should be in the official squad.
The only issue was that AM's form has been average this year, compared to other ones.
Delande has had good matches, but Esterhuizen has everything he does and more.
The way Jordie Barrett was run over - is the power we want in the midfield.
Delande is too upright in the tackle, and he gets stripped off the ball too often.
Delande is like a boxer that has been on the scene for a while. There is enough video footage on him to counter his game.
Esterhuizen offers something new, and with that unpredictability and a more complete package.
Oh ok that will be positive if he can be included….let’s hope so.
Form versus experience...tough calls
Let's assume that Pollard and Sam are fit...
Do we just ignore AE, Moodie and Manie?
That would seem like madness.
Agreed Plum, but Pollard being part of the Squad is only a positive….he might not play Full games at first, but his experience and Knowledge can help.

I just hope that the Boks have decided on who their best center combination.
Esterhuizen give the Boks much more options, which is especially useful with a running flyhalf that can get his backline going
