Both have been dropped and not included in Australia's World Cup ambitions.

Eddie Jones may be looking to buy himself time with new players

Aug 10, 2023, 17:59

Well, Eddie knows he has 5 years to get this team ready for when they host the World Cup in Australia.

There are some good potential in that team, but we don't see or are aware of is that rugby league is massive in Australia and have way more money than union.

Apparently a lot of under age Australian rugby players get handed contracts by the league clubs when they hit 18 and then get lost to the union teams, but their grounding is in rugby union.

So Eddie is looking at bringing those guys back into rugby but they also have to address keeping their future stars in the system.

That is why we have seen so many rugby league converts.

Just right Australia rugby is not in a good place.

Hooper and Cooper are 30+, they taking up a seat to develop the next batch, so this is a smart move.

WC is not the time to be looking for new players

Absolute joke leaving Hooper out - the guy is 31

Will Skeleton the captain - WTF

Eddie Jones like Jake need to retire from coaching

Aug 10, 2023, 18:08

Jake retire from coaching? :D

Hooper is Australia's best player. He has been for a decade at least. It's a big call, all we can do and see what Jones has up his sleeve.

Aussie biggest problem remains with their tight 5

Aug 10, 2023, 21:37

Saffex, You have a point there. I think you mentioned previously that the older the coaches get the less they understand their players and hard to motivate them.

Both Jake and Eddie understand youth development and building that conveyor belt.

I believe that they should drop of coaching but get more involved with the administration and clear the path for other coaches. Helping them with identifying players and ensuring that there are "administrators" that mess things up for the coaches

Aug 10, 2023, 23:09

Yep Eddie messed up with England and is now doing a worse job with Oz

Jake had a good Bulls squad and did nothing with them.

Both are poor people managers - players see through these guys after season 2

My mates son plays for England and he said the players hated Eddie

Jake had a good Bulls squad this past season and now has the likes of Willie, Sebastian de Klerk, Henry Immelman, Sergel Petersen, Jaco vd Walt, Wilco Louw, Aker vd Merwe and Kirsten join the ranks

If he can’t achieve anything with this squad then he needs to be sacked

Jake’s win ratio 36/17 with 1 test drawn. A 68% win ratio.

Harrassmiss’ record 35/19 with 1 test drawn. A 65% win ratio.

And the Harrassmiss groupies are always telling us the 2019 team was much better than the 2007 team….logically Jake achieving a significantly better record with a lesser team has to be the better coach.

Hell at least he didn’t bottle out and produce a chicken run like Harrassmiss. Nor did he drag the Boks’ name through the mud by attacking the referees. Nor did he coach when it suited him, he was always game for the contest. Nor did he leave his successor a 31 year old team.

There are better emollients than  snake oil.

Aug 11, 2023, 05:39

Ou Mozzzzz thinks sticking up for the Boks who got robbed blind by a cheating refs is dragging the Boks through the mud. Bwahahahaha Mozzzz has lost his moral compass. The moscroscope also has a faulty lense!

No Rassie was man enough to take a stand.

Aug 11, 2023, 07:27

Hooper is an absolute soldier.

I can't see how dropping him fixed anything unless Eddie has identified Hooper as having a bad influence on the team....putting the side at a net deficit when he's in it.

Isn't Hooper everybody's favourite Wallaby?

Aug 11, 2023, 09:24

Jake is nowhere near as good as Rassie and on top of that he is a complete prick

The guy can’t even produce the goods with the Bulls who have more depth than any other side in SA

Rassie’s true recorded ended after the Lions series - thereafter it was littered with bans and having his puppet partly call the shots

Aug 11, 2023, 09:39

If we stop playing catch up Rugby, and apply ourselves on the Rugby field like a proper coached team, then bad ref calls will not influence us….and like you say Saffex, Nienhaber is Rassies puppet….and all the Bans were unnecessary as it helped us absolutely Fuck ol ! This is all on Rassie.

Aug 11, 2023, 09:56

Yeah Rassie is a great coach, astute tactician and great with players

His negative is that he is great at turning teams around then running. He has no record of keeping a top side at the top as he leaves. He seems to always need a challenge

He did it with the Cheetahs, the Stormers, Munster and the Boks. Once he had won the Lions series he took a step back and became DOR appointing his puppet as the coach. From that point onwards along with his bans saw us slip

Aug 11, 2023, 13:34

Basically because he is more interested in himself than the team…,a total tit.

Aug 11, 2023, 13:57

The real tit is Jake - once the novelty wares off players see through his shit personality

It’s happening with the Bulls now

Aug 11, 2023, 14:21

Correction mozart.......Rassie is a complete "Udder".

Aug 11, 2023, 16:53

Is that more politically correct? If so I stand corrected.

Aug 11, 2023, 17:44

Plum, for some reason, a lot of people hate Hooper. Not dislike; hate. At one point there was a tremendous amount of vitriol directed at him by Aussies; they wanted him out of the team. I felt like he was Australia's Morné for a time.

Back to Jones. It's hard to really blame Jones for Australia's problems. Australia have been statistically the worst of all time each year since 2018. Erasputin has never faced a strong Wallaby side.
