Imagine a rugby squad so stacked, it feels like the Avengers have gone Springbok green. That's exactly what's happening with the Western Province team as they roll out the red carpet for eight world-beating Junior Boks and a battalion of club rugby warriors for the 2025 Currie Cup. The action kicks off against the Vodacom Bulls at the Cape Town Stadium this Saturday, promising a spectacle of epic proportions.

Leading the pack of young prodigies is Junior Boks captain Riley Norton, fresh from hoisting the World Rugby U20 Championship trophy in Italy. His comrades-in-arms, Xola Nyali, Wandile Mlaba, Oliver Reid, Herman Lubbe, Siya Ndlozi, Dominic Malgas, and Gino Cupido, are tagging along to jazz up the senior WP squad. These lads will be in the mix from next week, having just touched down from their victorious escapade.

The WP roster is a blend of seasoned pros and exuberant newbies. With the likes of Springbok Sevens stars Tristan Leyds, Zain Davids, Sako Makata, Justin Geduld, Ronald Brown, and Shilton van Wyk, the team is buzzing with talent. Not to forget the old guard—Skosan, Geduld, Scarra Ntubeni, Gary Porter, and Sti Sithole—ensuring that the team's spine is as solid as ever.

From the grassroots to the grand stage, 13 club rugby heroes have been summoned to thicken the plot. These include the likes of prop dynamos Arno Gustafson and Francois Staples, and backline maestro Brendan Venter, all ready to make their mark in the storied blue and white hoops.

"It has been incredible to see this squad come together over the last six weeks under a new management team,"

gushed WP head coach Labeeb Levy.

"There is a lot of energy from the coaches and the players, and we will see that same intent on the pitch over the next few weeks."

With a mix of youthful exuberance, proven prowess, and fresh blood from the club circuits, the Western Province team is not just playing for points; they're gunning for glory with a squad that's as diverse as it is dynamic. As the Currie Cup season unfolds, all eyes will be on this ensemble to see if they can translate their potential into victories. And with the support of their ardent fans, it's going to be a thrilling ride!
