Curwin Bosch, once a prodigious talent hailed from school fields to the international stage, is set to make his mark at Loftus Versfeld, armed with a wealth of European experience. Vodacom Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone has high hopes for the flyhalf/fullback, who returns to South Africa after a stint with French club Brive. Rathbone sees Bosch as a seasoned player ready to reinvigorate his career in Pretoria.

Bosch's journey took a turn in 2024 when he left the Sharks to join Brive. After two seasons sharpening his skills in France's Pro D2, he has refined aspects of his game that were merely budding during his early days in Durban. Rathbone emphasized the growth Bosch has undergone, both on and off the field:

"Curwin was a schoolboy prodigy and got his Bok cap very early, but players like him tend to mature later in their careers."

The change of scenery has evidently benefitted Bosch, as noted by his performance overseas. "A change of environment has been good for him," Rathbone added, sharing insights from conversations with Ed Coetzee, Bosch's former CEO at Brive, who praised the player's development.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bosch's personal life has also evolved, with marriage marking a new chapter. This blend of personal and professional growth paints a promising picture for his future contributions to the Bulls.

"He’s also now married, so I think we’re getting a different Curwin Bosch coming back to South Africa."

Not only is Bosch expected to boost the Bulls with his tactical kicking and goal-scoring precision, but Rathbone also harbors hopes for Bosch’s return to the national team. "He can still play for the Springboks because he’s a quality player. We hope that Curwin’s performances will get him back into the Bok mix," Rathbone confidently stated.

With Bosch headlining major signings for the Bulls, the stage is set for him to prove that his time away has been a period of significant enrichment. Both the Bulls and their supporters are eager to see how this seasoned version of Bosch will influence the dynamic at Loftus and possibly beyond, into the green and gold of the Springboks.
