As the Stormers gear up for a fierce Vodacom URC quarter-final clash against Cardiff at Cape Town Stadium, young scrumhalf Imad Khan is stepping up to the plate, ready to seize the moment in the absence of injured veteran Cobus Reinach. The 22-year-old talent is set to ignite a crucial playmaking partnership with fellow Springbok, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, in what promises to be a thrilling encounter this Saturday.

When probed about the mounting pressure of playoff rugby, Khan's response was nothing short of confident and composed.

"It’s more of an exciting thing for me and taking the moment in, more than calling it pressure,"

he explained during Wednesday's training session. His upbeat attitude shines through as he adds,

"It is so much fun to be playing with your mates and throwing a ball around. Yes, there is pressure, but I am enjoying it, and that is what is driving me."

The absence of Reinach has not only placed Khan in the spotlight but also provided him with invaluable learning opportunities. Reflecting on his recent experiences and the mentors around him, Khan shared, "I try to grab a lot of things from the players around me. Cobus is a world-class player and Stef [Stefan Ungerer] is also very experienced. With Dewies [Dewald Duvenage], I work a lot around the technical side of being a scrumhalf. They teach me a lot of things, and we are heading into the playoffs now, so it’s about driving the team."

Khan's eagerness to learn and adapt is evident as he continues to draw inspiration from his teammates. "It’s really cool to pick up different things from the world-class players around me. Hopefully, I can continue enjoying my rugby, which takes the pressure off," he remarked.

The Stormers are bracing themselves for a high-stakes game, where a victory would secure them a semi-final berth against either Leinster or the Lions. With Khan at the helm of the scrumhalf position, the team's dynamics look promising as they aim to capitalize on their home ground advantage and make a significant playoff push.
