It’s all about instinct for Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, according to Jean de Villiers. The former Springbok captain lavished praise on the young flyhalf after his electrifying performance helped the Stormers clinch a home quarter-final in a nail-biting draw against Ulster. Feinberg-Mngomezulu, just 24, dazzled fans and critics alike by racking up 21 points in the match, showcasing why he's tipped to be among the elite.

On the latest episode of the Boks Unpacked podcast, De Villiers dissected Feinberg-Mngomezulu's game, highlighting his physical prowess and mental agility. "You can say what you want about that kid but the way that he throws his body around as a flyhalf, the physicality that he brings, the commitment to the job at hand, when he switches on, when you can see that he’s in the zone, flip, he can do some special stuff," De Villiers explained.

"You saw so many of those things on the weekend. Competing for high balls, diving on the ball on the ground, small things where if you’re not 100% there, you don’t see that."

De Villiers continued to praise the young Stormer's versatility and commitment, noting a standout moment from the recent game. "He’s got all the skills in the world. I was watching the game on Friday and I just thought there’s a level of commitment that when it’s there, he is so special."

"When he starts overthinking it, I think that’s when he runs into issues, but when he just plays what’s in front of him, he’s phenomenal."

This sentiment from De Villiers captures the essence of Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s potential hurdles and highlights. The young star's ability to stay present and react instinctively on the field could well dictate his trajectory in becoming one of rugby's finest. As the Stormers gear up for their quarter-final showdown, all eyes will be on Feinberg-Mngomezulu to see if he can maintain this explosive form under pressure.
