The revelation of the Women’s Six Nations Team of the Championship has once again underscored the dominance of England's Red Roses. Following their fifth consecutive Grand Slam victory, which culminated in a decisive 43-28 win over France in Bordeaux, the Red Roses have secured a prominent place with seven players named in the esteemed lineup. The selection, determined by a public vote, not only highlights individual excellence but also showcases the strategic depth and prowess of John Mitchell’s world champion squad.

France, the runners-up, have made a strong showing with four players included, a testament to their resilience and skill throughout the tournament. Ireland and Italy, too, have reasons to celebrate with key players from each team earning their spots, reflecting the growing competitiveness across the teams. Notably absent from the selection were players from Scotland and Wales, an omission that speaks volumes about the challenges those squads faced in a tournament marked by fierce competition.

"This team represents the best of the best, a true reflection of excellence in this year's championship,"

noted Mitchell, underscoring the caliber of players selected.

In the backline, England’s Ellie Kildunne has been chosen as full-back, with teammates Meg Jones and Jess Breach joining her as centre and winger, respectively. Fly-half Zoe Harrison rounds out England’s representation in the backline. The forwards see Abi Burton, Sarah Bern, and Amy Cokayne making the list, each having played pivotal roles in their team’s success.

From France, winger Anaïs Grando and scrum-half Pauline Bourdon Sansus have been recognized for their dynamic play, alongside lock Madoussou Fall Raclot and prop Ambre Mwayembe, who have been instrumental in the scrum. Ireland’s contributions come from Aoife Dalton and Aoife Wafer, positioned at inside centre and number eight, while Erin King secures a spot as the blindside flanker. Italy’s Francesca Sgorbini completes the selection at openside flanker.

The performances of Jones, Sgorbini, Wafer, and Bourdon Sansus have not only earned them spots in the Team of the Championship but also nominations for the Player of the Championship, an accolade still up for grabs with public voting ongoing.

The Women’s Six Nations continues to break records, with this year’s tournament drawing an unprecedented 279,750 fans, underscoring the growing appeal and support for women’s rugby. As the fixtures for the 2027 Championship have been announced, adopting a 'Super Saturday' format that promises thrilling climaxes, the anticipation for next year’s showdowns is already building.
