You recently had objections to me pointing out how we out spun Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Claiming they are a shyte team. I guess India must also be a shyte because…this from Cricinfo today… “But what was baffling was the Indian spinners being outbowled by their South African counterparts on a pitch that resembled one from back home. The last time India visited South Africa, in 2017-18, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal had wreaked havoc. They topped the bowling charts, picking up 33 wickets at a combined average of 15.09 to help India win the six-match ODI series 5-1.“ In case you missed the game, Maharaj and Markram strangled the Indians. They’re actually a great combo, a lefty and righty both bowling off-spin. Both accurate and in combination offering opposite challenges to the batters. Two ODI series in a row where the Proteas spinners outperformed historically good spin teams. On both occasions the pitches favoured the sub-continent sides. And just to add insult to injury…guess who called for Markram to take on more of an all rounder role and bat lower down the order, before anyone else? If I’m not mistaken, not a single person here spoke about Markram being used as a bowler. And because I know you missed it…it means Markram can now be used as a Kallis type. Batting in the middle order while being relied on to bowl too. Question is, are you gonna thank me for being the first person to tell you that we may have found the solution to the Kallis problem? Go on…
