There was no real pressure on the team after the first two wickets fell. Sangakara felt he had to play an anchor role, but only succeeded in exposing all the Sri Lankan batsmen. The pace attack at the start was very good, and our spinners allowed to settle, bowled very tidily. I will have my humble pie served with a nice chianti.

This round goes to Dave and the OOM.

Then as far as the batting is concerned, this innings will be good for de Kock....there was no team pressure, but he himself must have felt an urgency to perform. I'm not sure this innings sets aside all the concerns, but he did what he could do given the low target.

So on to the big semi confrontation with NZ, unless WI make our week even better.

The problem is that you did not see what we were trying to say all along.   De Kocxk is a class act.   Any player who scored five centuries in 8 ODI's and is that young is a class act.
You did not appreciate the fact - which we also emphasized that due to his injury in December 2014 - he did not have the proper preparation for the WC he should have had.  Problem is De Villiers knew what the problem was and stated it correctly when he persisted that De Kock is a matchwinner - which was proven over the last 15 months.
It is better to accept that prejudice does not help in cases like this and that the problem with De Kock was his timing of shots - not really anything else.   He got his timing back to where it was before the injury and I do not think he will lose it again during the game next Tuesday.

"...  De Kocxk is a class act."

Is he now?...Really??...is that because he has come good in one game after a severe form slump?

Kak man, you're another one who has no understanding of what constitutes a "class act"

If you cant see that de Kock is a class act then just chuck in the towel right now.

There might have not been pressure in terms of the total to chase but rest assured the pressure on the lad to perform himself must have been huge.

The way he was striking that ball proved all the class he possesses. There were NO flaws in his technique......but that is usually the case when you find form and retain it.

That innings will have done him the world of good......he will be fine for the next game.......his form will be fine, but cricket is a cruel game and it only takes one great ball and you are back in the hutch
