Beuran Hendricks:

A strange choice. Hendricks’ figures in first class cricket this season don’t justify an international call up. He’s played one match for Western Province and two for SA A and taken 1/203 in 69 overs in that period.

Cricket SA appointed a Commissioner  - an Advocate - to investigate racism in SA cricket and the useless submitted long strings of complaints against Graeme smith, Boucher, De Villiers and De Kock - that while De Kick's father married a Black woman and he was brought up in a multiracial  household.    The report submitted alleged that the four mentioned are racists.

Fact is every player who did not perform in the past  and who were in fact useless laid complaints about racism against the four mentioned.     Incidentally the Advocate appointed was a Zuma defender and multiple court cases and he flopped in all of them.

Anyway - dropping some of the players on Dave's list is hence  impossible and the fact that they are kept in the squad is based on politics and has nothing to do with  cricket

The SA team ia a farce with the battings an bowling badly damaging.  \

Elgar, Markram, Petersen, Van der Dussen, Bavuma, De Kock, Mulder, Jansen, Maharaj, Rabada and Ngidi,

Elgar, Petersen and Bavuma have been  out of form and Jansen ahead of Olivier is a real joke as well.  Rabada and Ngidi have been out of form for a  while now.   This is nto a good start for the series and  we can blame the selectors for another farce.

After 20 overs there were no balls bowled faster than 140 kph and Rabada average 137 kmh and Jansen  135 kmh with Ngidi averaging 134 kph.

Apparantly SA without Nortje and Olivier has no fast bowlers left and  at  best the three bowlers used were medium fast.   Besides that there were no attacking of the wickets by the bowlers and not a single pad hitting and no extras were in evidence,    A very poor bowling spell to start the first test.   Two die bowls bowled by Rabada went for fours.

The only possible opportunity to get a wicket, was when De Kock missed a  difficult catch from a bowl bowled by Jansen.      After 28 overs the score is 83 for no wicket.

Is it just me or are the SA squad completely flat looking? All bowling at the same pace, no life in the team and more of the same, over after over. Here’s hoping India hit 600 and bowl the quotas out for 150 in the first innings…enforce the follow on and and win by an innings and 100 runs.

India closing in on 100 for no loss on a pitch that should be suiting our “pace” bowlers. Love it. Let’s hope we see at least one double hundred from on me of the openers today.

Little to no pressure after lunch. Here’s we’re having two frontline spinners would have come in handy, Saffex. Look for Maharaj and Markram to be our best bowlers today. How the F Shamsi isn’t playing is a complete mystery.

In one over after lunch Rabada bowled one over when he reached 141 kph three balls  - the next over was back to between 132 and 137 kph..   Question is Rabada and Ngidi match fit?   Does not look like it.   Rabada has picked up  weight and Ng idi the same.

Rabada thinks we should all just be happy that he’s gracing us with his presence. Perhaps somebody should let him know that the world doesn’t owe him wickets.

Mike Haysman confirmed  the bowling pace of the three so-called fast bowlers today as follows:-

Rabada                 -      136,8

Jansen                   -      134,6

Ngidi                     -      132,8

The above figures indicates none of the three are in fact fast bowlers - in cricket parlance  they are in fact medium-fast bowlers - not the real thing anymore.    Fact is Ngidi is probably down to a medium pacer  in the case of most balls bowled.

Aside from that Rabada gave away runs by numerous wides and no-balls.    Ngidi in fact bowled poorly most of the times and the fact is that the 3 wickets he got has more to do with   carelessness by the batsmen who saw no threat in his bowling.

I saw this coming from a while now and was referring to deficient pace by Rabada for a while now.   The Indians also saw the deficiencies  and Delhi released him from his contract with them, while  Chennai did the same iro  Ngidi,    Gone are the millions those two made from the two clubs.     By the way Delhi retained the services of  Nortje - paying him $1 million for the 10 week season.    I think Jansen has a better chance of getting contracted than either Rabada and Ngidi are.

Plum I think the constant racist attacks on staff and players are the reason for the low interest  in the game showed by the already dispirited team today.

Hahaha The Flopteas failing to capitalise on the let-off by the Indian batters. At this rate, the follow-on is still in play. Can a Bavuma save us by hitting his second test century in about 80 innings? It’s time to ALT-F4 this team and pick a new young squad with players that are actually the best in the country.

A tea time declaration for India should do the trick. With the lead they have, they could go out an treat tomorrow like an ODI. And probably have SA 4 or 5 down by the close of play. Love it.

What a disaster this afternoons play has been for SA.

No spirit at all in going for it but simply hoping for a miracle.

V Dussen shouldering his bat and getting bowled is an indication of the class batsman that he has turned out to be.

When he was first selected some folks implied that he was a star batsman to fill for players like AB when they retire....well sorry to burst your bubble guys but he is not what he was made out to be.

The other opener with the skipper needs to be dropped asap.

After watching the England-Aussie Ashes tests this year which was exciting this series (SA- India) has been a boring and that is being kind to the SA players.
