At least the Proteas used to have talent even if they were mentally weak. Now they are talentless and gutless. Agar was within a coat of linseed oil of getting two hat-tricks against these losers.

Sadly this team is anchored on a small man who seems likely to fold under the pressure. Today was so classic. Starc bowled wide to Okkie and he confidently clipped it for 2.....the chorus in the commentators box revved up their Okkie theme.

But then Starc swung the ball into De Ock, who confidently swung with his usual barn door gap between bat and pad. But Starc straightened the ball off the seam and it went straight between bat and pad. Over. Movement is Ock’s nemesis.

The rest barring Faf and Rabada were just out their depth. Has there ever been a more disappointing bat than Miller.

So here we are....with a new team....but totally lost. And we are playing at home!

Miller has delivered on a number of occasions and is there to smash it at 6 he is good and sometimes fantastic. The guy averages 40 batting at 6 hardly disappointing now is it? Not to mention a strike rate of 100 Your anti de Kock is on par with PSDT Rassie is useless as is Faf these days The likes of Smuts and v Biljon should never have smelt an international match

Mozart is like normal totally buggered upstairs and the logic is on the side of Dave,

Now  lets look at the bowlers first - the  following was way to expensive:-

Rabada          =      15 rpo

Ngidi             =   12.3 rpo

I can to a extend understand why Rabada was so expensive - this is his first T20I game for ay least six months and I am sure he will improve.   However, Ngidi remains the nightmare eh was in the English series and that is a problem.

Steyn had decent figures bowling wise, but he buggered  up totally on a catch of Smith when he was on 4 runs and to an extent that buggered up the game totally.

As to the batsmen - if De Kock who rarely fails to make runs in any form of he game, is out early - the rest of the batting line up collapses.    The fact is that Van der Dussen was also poor toiday and so was Du Plessis.   Smuts ad Van Biljon should never hacve been in the squad anyway,

They will never produce anything of substance ever.

Dave it’s not only these days you have railed against Faf.....you did from the beginning, and never accepted reality. The man is our top ranked ODI bat.

Ag foeitog - that garbage again,

Dave

Boucher got the hell in with he clown show put up by the Proteas on Friday- their bowling was atrocious, their fielding was extremely poor and their batting even worse,

He said that players must not be surprised of they do not make the 2020  squad to play in the T20I WC in Australia,   The fault is entirely with the  selectors - they have not really identify younger players like Verreyne, Snyman and Malan - to name but a few- that should have been tested to determine whether they have real potential.

Instead the concentrated on never-has-beens like Smuts, Van Rooyen and a few others and hope they would come through.    What a clown show!!!!

The biggest idiot on site blamed De Kock for the loss on Friday and blamed him for the potential loss today,   That is typically Mozart - he would rather lose a game than win it as long as he can get at De Kock,

A bi t sick in the mind when to comes to that one,

So Du Plesssis took one very good catch and contributed also to the good  catch of Miller.  But there is a critical question as to why is Du Plessis in the team,   Is it not primarily as a batsman?

So throughout all games played against England and in the game on Friday and today he failed as a batsman.  Is that not a reason for being negative when it comes to discussion of his performances?

The other  guy who really was a failure today was Hendricks, - his batting was definitely not up to standard'

As to the bowling the situation today was that an economy rate to ensure victory was not more than 7,5.

  The economy rates of the 5 bowlers used were as follows:-
*   Ngidi           =     10,25*   Pretorius     =       7,25*   Rabada        =       6,75*   Nortje         =        6,00*   Shamsi       =         4,25
The average was -      6,90  However - despite being expensive - Ngidi took 3 key wickets in the game on Sunday and that helped massively for the victory on Sunday,
So the bowlers brought their part I was particularly impressed by Shamsi and Nortje/

Faf had his moments but ultimately has been a bit of a let down, a middle range bat But he is done at 35 he needs to retire

Dave

Did you see that Mozart went missing on the cricket discussion - he musrt be severely embarrassed by the BS he wrote under this thread.

It was by this afternoon not sure whether Bavuma and Klaasen would be available for tomorrow's game.   However, I hope they pick at east Verreyne, Janneman Malan and Snyman for the ODI series against Australi a starting on Saturday,
