De Kock always was a classy player - but his preparation for this WC was not what it should have been as a result of his injury keeping him out of cricket for 8 weeks.
I never doubted that he would not come back into form sooner rather than later. I think AB thought the same and with the support of AB - De Kock would come right at the critical time.
He has his confidence back and that makes things look bleak for the next opposing team.

I am one of those that called for him to be dropped down the order, or even dropped from the team. So maybe I got that call wrong.......buuuut, we must remember that this is just one innings! One good innings does not mean a return to form, even though I hope that is the case. The kid is talented, and will come good, I just think we may be jumping on the 'he's back to form' bandwagon a little too quickly.
That said, good luck to him, and may he hit the winnings run s in the final!

Say Bluebok....do you still think AB shouldn't be Captain?

Did I say that Denny? I don't think I did. The only comment I remember making was that he was the best player in the team and that did not automatically make him the best captain. Unlike in rugby where we have player that are not the best in their positions, but they are the best captains.

De Kock can't handle the new ball. That disqualifies him as an opening batsman. He was yet again a deer in the headlights against proper seam bowling today.
