de Kock
Exactly...he and a few others have been trying for years now...there's simply too much to do for him and a few individuals to cope...and if Graeme and Bouch can't do it, there is no fix...it's some other problem and a big one at that...fools at the top micro-managing the experts into mediocrity...job well done!
Te above article is probably the nearest it comes to the real reason for Quinton's departure from test cricket. The whole situation as to professional management of cricket in SA is pathetic and the team has no strong leadership group as a result.
l players are performing below par - the fast bowlers bowling at a pace never described as real fast bowling. The batsmen are about as lethargy as they come and low scores ar and it sd e he norm. Selections are not made on merit and the racism in evidence is pathetic. Obsrving BLM is more important than playing cricket. after even
I sick of what is going on since 2019. When Boucher became Coach and Smith the Director of Cricket we all hoped that corrective action would be taken. Instead of getting o better it got even 'worse. It is evident that the malaise could not be handled by two proven professionals / Those two are now being accused of racism so it is time that they call it a day and state clearly what the problem is. .
What balls, if anybody is culpable for our WC failures it’s de Kock…now he’s, guess what, a victim again. This is the loser mentality that haunts South African sport.
They can’t fix it because we simply don’t have the players….those 2 youngsters in the Indian test would never have smelt the team 10 years ago. We are going through a trough. The supposed big talents Markram and Ock have never come through for the team….except Markram had a decent T20 WC. Rabada, the Steyn replacement is fading. Many of our best kids are playing for other countries.
All these new names look pretty ordinary at top level….there is no Gibbs, Kallis, Steyn, Donald, AB de Villiers.
Mozart
Dream on - your comments have zero to do with player potential and everything to do with politicized player selections. That is where the problem gets shown up in public. The whole structure collapsed with SA Cricket going downhill fast over the past decade and reached crisis point by 2018/19.
Without a supportive structure anymore the Management structure of SAC became corrupted It became a political extension of the ANC. The system was flawed - the results disastrous.
"Without a supportive structure anymore the Management structure of SAC became corrupted It became a political extension of the ANC. The system was flawed - the results disastrous."
I'll re-phrase.....
CSA failed to be a supportive structure instead it's become a tool of the ANC, the tool is there to implement the political agenda of the ANC through Transformation. The general advancement of cricket has decayed and died a silent death at the hands of the ANC political agenda. What we see in the squad and team is representative of the political agenda of the ANC sealed and delivered by their stooges, CSA. Putting it plainly it means that there has to be 7 POC's in the team regardless of whether they have the ability........on the swing it says "white boy".......... we don't want you, you are of the wrong pigmentation.
The simple truth is that the only criteria for selection is pigmentation of skin, skin colour doesn't grab you a wicket or make you score a ton but that's of zero importance, what's important is that the number of POC's in the team is "right." AB and De Kock became overwhelmed with CSA hence the reason for their departures.
Credit to Mike who saw it coming a long time ago.
So Mike he thinks of his family when playing test cricket at home… but it’s not a problem when he is playing T20 in India? I’m pretty sure Ock would be motivated by actions that affect him.
The obvious one was the humiliation he suffered when he decided to not take the knee, placing his sensibilities above those of his team mates. That was very dumb, showing zero understanding of the consequences, but then he is a very dumb lad.
I doubt it has anything to do with quotas, which never affected him anyway. Nor with politics. But he may have got a bit unhappy when the commentators tore a strip off him for his latest gutless batting performance .
He has always been given a free pass with these big match implosions on the basis that he was following his instincts. Somebody finally mentioned responsibility to his team mates.
Petulant rather than principled is my guess….but good riddance, he never produced the goods when it counted and now he has become a drama Queen. Time to move on,
In India De Kock played with professional team selections and some of the top coaches in the game is involved - there is no political agenda. involved.
You as per normal missed the whole scene because of your hatred of De Kock. You cannot see a demoralized team going through the motions - fast bowlers bowling at 136 kph (Rabada) and even worse 132 kph (Ngidi), batsmen batting as if they are totally uncommitted. You cannot see constant failures in performance. You can see a lot of petty things you attack De Kock on - for the rest the braincells closed off.
Responsibility for what dimness? Go and look at Smith and Boucher - they seem to be in the same hiatus - they go through the motions while being attacked as racialists. Why is anybody to play for a team selected to lose with duds in the team and with a captain who does not know even about field placings. Elgar was a failure as captain in the Titans and then at 33 without any real leadership ability made captain of the team. Whatever you say - he is not a captain's backside. Van der Dussen should have been selected years ago - not when hw was 30 year old and now at 32 is in serious decline. Petersen should never have been in the team and I am afraid Markram is going the same way as De Kock - going through the motions and not applying himself to the job.
One would have hoped that you would be able to see the wider picture - but with you the different and comprehensive picture is not understood or deliberately ignored because of your personal agenda. Somewhere else you called the failed Meyer a better coach than Erasmus - showing the shit has finally taken over the functioning of your brain. A brain scan is necessary to see what is to be done iro of your shitbrain dementia.
Actually I agree Malan should be playing, he looked pretty organized to me. Can Verrrreynne do better than de Kock if he’s picked….it won’t be hard based on 2021
My take on Jansen remains the same……a kid starting at 135ks is hardly inspiring. He gets a bit of slant and bounce because of his height, hardly exciting.
Dave you are always talking about time in the gym…..this kid could put on 20 lbs of muscle without any risk of losing his flexibility. He looks very gangly, a bit of strength could make him a factor. The height is always going to be a plus.
Jansen has an identical twin brother Duan who according to Donald is the better bowler of the two - but I have heard nothing about him for many months. Wonder what happened to him?
There is no interest in scoring runs - 18 overs produced 35 runs.

Maaik, they were doing well before they lost Markham's wicked, after that, the mission was to end the day without the loss of another wicked...and the light was real bad for the last 1/2 hour...let's hope tomorrow we can build on the good start the bowlers gave us today.
"This game, where we don’t need him to,..."
Don't get ahead of the game, there's a lot of work left for tomorrow...but yess, if there's not too much for him to do, he can really take the game away from the opposition...turning a level game into an innings lead of 100+...a valuable weapon to turn potential draws to victories...pity we didn't have a to p order to back him up during the last...has it been 3 years already?
"What is Jansen’s twin brother like"... Maaik says Donald says he's the better bowler of the two...the brother, that is, but I thing the Jansen playing now can bat a bit too...we'll see...
