The positives 

Markram is the real deal lacking experience as we witnessed him imploding on the sub continent.

Maharaj is a world class spinner. End of positives as far as the batting is concerned.De Kock is fragile. So we're short on quality at 3/4/5/6

Both versions of the game lack an Allrounder. Amla is starting to show his age and he'll be sorely missed. 

Bowling is ok although they need Steyn to stay healthy. Still they lack a quality 4th bowler and that's where it falls apart where an Allrounder would be handy. They 'll probably have no choice but to rope in Philander, he'll be  lively on e nglish wickets.

Forget about them winning the WC, they'll be lucky to make it through their pool.

Ottis Gibson doesn't really look like he's got a clue, it was a bit of insult having Kirsten in the selection team that picked Gibson when he should have been the one taking the reigns.

What's the domestic talent looking like? Guys like Hamza, Malan, Van Der Dussen any good?

I'm really hoping Mulder can be that all rounder.

I think batting is really where the cupboards are looking bare, bowling wise there's still Rabada, Ngidi, Maharaj, Olivier, Mulder who are young and talented. 

Batting wise there's Markram and De Kock (hopefully he can turn it around)

Well I've yet to see Mulder impress, a few on the forum had big wraps on him, honestly don't know why, he looks plain ordinary to me. The attack is ok, it's just that they need a big-hitting Allrounder who can bowl a bit. De Kock is ok on certain wickets only, sorry but I've lost patience with him. 

But ja, the batting is in a bad shape. I don't know the local talent but Hamza has been hyped on here......I've yet to see him in action. It's a bit too late to be blooding players leading into the WC, methinks. Perhaps there's still a few big ones left in Amla? I'm hoping.
