Rassie has an unworldly average of over 70 in ODIs. But today he increased that with another brilliant 100 against the Poms. Perhaps the most under appreciated SA bat ever.

He is ok at white ball cricket, his lack of talent and suspect technique gets exposed at test level I don’t rate him at all and is the wrong side of 30

Did Magala get MOM? Watched Rassie’s innings yesterday. The guy is so organised. Must be in the running for the highest ODI average of all time. And he has a good few games under the belt now…ruling out the anomaly argument. Nortje is totally living up to Mitch Johnson’s handlebars. Jokes aside, i think he is actually trying to emulate Mitch in how he’s approaching his bowling. Does anyone else see the similarities?

How Jansen missed the game is a larger question.

But despite all the past batting failures at last the batters gave the bowlers a shot at winning with a decent score.

Hoping their form at bat holds good for the series.

Okay at white ball with 1636 runs at a 71.1 average? My word Dave you give no credit unless it’s a seuntjie or a previous seuntjie pick.

Listen Fruitloop I said Markram was the best bat we have, which is true It’s just unfortunate he is not living up to his talent and early promise Moz - yeah I don’t rate players that can’t crack it as test bats. Rassie bores the crap out of me. Don’t rate him at all but he is able to shine in ODI’s so I’ll credit him there

Yes, if he's not living up to his talent then he is NOT the best we have.

That's kinda the dividing line.

The more chances he's had the more set that line is.

He played well in the previous game though, being used as we suggested...4 or higher, and bowling.

I'd say he's probably more comfortable playing on feel like Miller anyway.

Well the old stick's average took a hit in todays game.

Agree with Dave he is a 20 and 50 over games player at best but not a test player in my humble opinion.

Plus he is getting to the stage at which players are edging to the retirement team.

Old Humpty Dumpty Magala should be used between innings to roll the wicket.

Today's game illustrates just how fragile our second team is with the ball and yet another poor batting performance from vdD.

How the blazes did Shamsi get into the squad!

LOL, but he's better than he looks...or I expected him to be.

Yet another poor batting performance from vdD?  Seriously AJH? You mean like his ton in the first ODI and his solid 153 total for the series, which is the most by any Proteas bat?

Now we all know why Captain Bavuma never received a bid at the SA 20 auction.

Out to the very first ball he faced in the tournament.

The teams in the IPL must be lining up to sign him up..........

So much for all the hard work Smith must have put in for him to get a shot after being overlooked in the auction.

Ja AJ, his signing was blasted over the radio and the commentators were singing his praises and then ....DUCK ....I'm not one to revel in someone's misery, but it was funny AF...he was in good form of late, so I hope he gets over this, but boy did he fall to the commentator's curse last night.

Well Bavuma got a few runs in the last game.

The guys who have performed with the bat are: Faf and Klassens.

But the players that stand out for me are Miller and Jansen.

Klassens knock today was outstanding.

Rossouw, Stubbs and young AB are struggling with the bat hopefully they will come good soon.

Nortje is sure having a great SA 20 series with the ball.

Wonder what Captain Bavuma's average is after the final.

Must admit that the Sunrise opener and WC has the ability to set up a win with the bat in the opening (first) six overs.

vd Merwe sure made some fans aware of his bowling skills but unfortunately was not good enough for the SA team selectors years ago.

SA loss and Netherlands BIG gain.

But then we did gain spinner Shamsi.

Some surprises in the games and a few players failing to impress.

Well now back to the Proteas games as the womens SA team is not worth following.

What a competitor.....I love the way he injects himself into a game, if only the Proteas had one player like him.

Some surprises in the games and a few players failing to impress.

Well, truth be told not one of the next layer of batting hopefuls impressed......there were plenty of one swallows that didn't make the summer throughout the tournament. The youngsters simply aren't ready to make that next level up. Markram continues to underperform and frustrate himself and his abundance of fans. Thought Gerhard Coetzee and Eathan Bosch showed potential and are the most likely replacements for Rabada and Ngidi, Rabada  has totally lost his mojo. Andrich Nortje troubled every single batsman who faced him and is without a doubt a world class speed merchant and South Africa's premier bowler. But what the Proteas lack is a swing bowler, another Vernon or a Dale to add variety to the attack, doesn't seem like there's any on the horizon.

Crowd turnout was good throughout...tv numbers?...I don't know, but it seems like there were enough interest...I think Biff will be satisfied...really hopes this grows exponentially.
