He also has a major problem as batsman in any format of the game and I think what he did now is an effort to stick around as  a player.

If  Faf  thinks he can recover his batting - good luck to him,   However, I am afraid his eye-hand co-ordination is not there on the required standard anymore and he is up against a real problem.   Maybe the IPL will help him - but I doubt it very much.

I think that Faf is right about the new fa ces in the squad issue, but what new faces there are have  been  recycling of failures of the past and too little younger players  are allowed to play in the national team.   If the matter is going to change for the better, they better get rid of the recycled failures and start looking for new players,

I hope the following players are in the  T20I squad to be announced tomorrow for the Aussie series:-

Rabada, Nortje and Tait  amongst the bowlers

Janneman Malan, Verreyne and Snyman amongst the batsmen.

The team I select will be as follows:-

Malan

De Kock

Bavuma
AB de Villiers
Verreyne
Snyman
Phlelukwayo
Shamsi
Rabada
Tait
Nortje
The problem will then be there will only be 4 players of colour in the team and the ANC will scream blue murder.
I put AB in - but he is in Pakistan and money counts more than anything else in his case.   Anyway as to net value of De Villiers a recent report indicated that he is worth  $21 million (ie circa R300 million) in assets and investments,   Another R25 million for the Pakistan PL  and IPL is to be added this year,    For the rest in other tournaments he is likely to earn another R8 million this year,
I hope the main site idiot listens to what Boucher said about De Kock as captain.

Sorry no, it never made the US news. But if Boucher is talking up Ock’s captaincy it obviously needs talking up. Body language when things aren’t going well would be a good start.
