The game was supposed to start at 10:00 - but it been raining heavily for two days and the rainy conditions continued his morning,   It became lighter just before 10:00 and the covers were removed - but shortly afterwards the rain was back an so was the covers.

So no cricket yet and there are all indications that there may not be any play today,  The temperature is 10 Degrees C as against the average of 26 degree normally encountered this time of the year.

In the meantime the Indian Government issued an advisory to avoid mass gatherings and that includes both the present series and the upcoming IPL.  Even though it seems as if the present series may go forth, chances are it might be "closed door" games - but visa restrictions in the IPL may effect foreign players in the IPL.

And SA has been hot by the even worse Eskomvirus - in the past 24 hours we have been out of electricity for 9 hours,   No wonder the country went onto a recession recently.  I sent an advosiy to the local Municipality in how we can get rid for keeps of the Eskomvirus,

Let wait and see what happens.

The crowd's hanging around as the floodlights come on. The covers are still on the ground, while the super soppers chug over them. It's drizzling very very lightly

"Last year, when SA traveled here, the 1st T20 match was in Dharamsala and that was abandoned due to rain. Hope we don't have a replica of that!" - my gut feel says we are heading in that direction. But let's see...

2.55pm Drizzle getting heavier. Full ground covered again

4.20 pm: The update from Dharamsala is that the drizzle has not stopped. The ground is still completely under the covers. And we're getting closer to that 6.30 pm cut-off time.
