One would swear the Bangladesh bowlers were bowling unplayable balls Our bats are in such shit form that they can’t even play a defensive shot to a straight ball Playing the wrong lines You usually have one maybe two bats out of form - we have de Kock, Hendricks and Markram

Thank heavens for Klaasen. Game in the balance…Bangladesh need 30 runs from 29 balls

Two  catches by Markram on the boundary swing the match. Banga needs 6 from the last ball, every Protea fielder on the boundary.

Proteas squeak through. Having Maharaj bowl the last over was scary.

Actually I thought that Maharaj was the best bowler available to bowl the last over.

When the chips are down you can always rely on a Durban player as proven in this match and in the previous game as well.

Miller and Raj showed their qualiies in the last two games.

What a result.

Raj is top class, I've always sung his praises, would have the odd loss of form but he was the one bowler who consistently stood out over the years in the Protea attack. Probably our all-time best finger spinner.

Very hard to watch us batting. We must have the worst batting lineup of any of the contenders. Our bowlers are up there with the best but we have no hope of winning this thing unless at least two of our top order batsmen find some form.

True. They are clueless have no batting intelligence and short on calcium.

I know you don't care much for Faf but I reckon he would have plugged a few holes.

AJ I also rate Maharaj, but with the slogging Bangladesh was doing at the end it just seemed more likely the bat would catch up with a spinner.

Mozart

There were 3 matches played and in the case of  the batting line-up the real failures in at least 2 of the amtches were Markram and Hendricks - who caused the run out of De Kock in the last match when he never faced a single ball in the match.   Hendricks called for a run and then hessitated when De Kocvk was halfway down the pitch.   Hendricks himself failed in all three matches and so did Markram.

Klaasen failed in two matches and by a miracle scored runs in the last match.

The bigest failure in bowling in all three amtches were Rabada and Maharaj - not Nortje.

The low scores of countries must be blamed on the pitches that favor the bowlers.   Most matches were won by winners scoring a very few runs comparative of what happens in T20 matches worldwide.

Interesting....

Just read a report that says the Protea coach blames the pitch for the poor batting performance and says that there'll be no change to his selections as they'll be playing on West Indies pitches for the rest of the tournament.

The T20 against Nepal was anoher show of poor betting and bowling by Rabada ws nticeable.   In the ed Baartman bwled the last over with Nepal needing 8 runs to win the match.  On the firs ball they scored a run and the third one produced a fiour and wit h e last ball to bowl the Nepa eam needed one run to draw level with the Proteas or 2 runs to wi - Baartman bw;ed the abll and the batsman failed to ht the bal - it went to De Kock who threw the ball to the bowlers end since the batsman tried to get a run.  Klaasen got hold of the ball and hit the stumps - player ran ut and the Proeas won the match by 1 run.

That was another example of poor batting and questionable bowling.   With that kind of performance I cannot see how the Proeas can win any further match th is WC series.

No reason to blame the wicket for our dismal but lucky batting performances but remember it is the same wicket for both teams to bat on.

On his form in the IPL and this CWC I would suggest that Rabada is a spent force but who is able to step up if Maharaj gets dropped?

Certianly not the other two spinners in the present squad.

Watched the "Ladies" game this morning and was shocked in their  performance.

They appeared better skilled when warming up with the soccer ball than cricket once the game started.

Outclassed by the Indian ladies.

Agree. It will take a miracle for our ladies to win one game against a formidable Indian ladies. Didn't watch all of the depressing game but of the bits I watched I reckon the late Warney would have been chuffed with the leg breaks the Indian legspinner Asha I think her name is was sending down.

Rickelton is not a favourite of the coach, read this somewhere so he's only in the squad because of the pressure put on coach Walter.

I may just look at the start of the match  and if both  the bowlers and batters fuck up as expected I will find something better to do.

Denny

I watched the whole amtch and the winner for the Proteas was De Kock - he h it 74 runs from 40 balls,   That is th e type of stuff to win in T20 cricket.

As to be expected Hendricks again failed and it shows he really is a cricket batting shit..

Andries Gous moved to the USA to play cricket because in SA he had no chance to play for SA .   He acxtually made 75 runs - but with a lower strike rate.

Actually Gous made 80 not out in 47 balls against a much superior bowling attack.

Mike, Quinton did what he's supposed to do and I hope he continues  when fronting real teams with a real attack. Same goes for Markram. As for the useless Hendricks......what else is there to think and say about him? Still, there's a fella on here who thinks he's World Class Bwhahahaha

I'd like to see Rickelton get a run although it's hard to see that happening being a leftie with a presence under sufferance.

If only we had Faf.....
