We have become their CWC Bunnies.
I see at least one of the more ignorant SA fans is dismissing the Black Caps as ordinary in his inimitable sneering and conceited manner. That same bloated old windbag would do well to look at the last three Cricket World Cups and specifically, the meetings between the Proteas and the Black Caps.
In the Group stages in 2003 New Zealand hammered us by by 9 wickets resulting in us not even making it to the knockout stages (in the tournament we hosted!)
In the Super 8 stage in 2007 New Zealand beat us by 5 wickets ensuring they got the easier semifinal against Sri Lanka while we were hammered by Australia instead.
The Black Caps then sent us home in 2011 in the quarterfinals when Jacob Oram took 4/39 and they beat us by 49 runs.
I wouldn't be so quick to slag off these Kiwis . . . especially looking at the number of in-form batsmen they have and the twin bowling threat of Tim Southee and Trent Boult.
Come on Proteas!
