you need  big players to deliver so with regards to the attack I'm tipping KG, MJ and Maharaj and with the bat I'm tipping Quinton, Markram, Klaasen and MJ. We need our top three to lay a solid foundation in the powerplay for big hitters Klaasen and MJ to add some big hitting touches. It won't be easy. Unlike the IPL with it's made for batting flat pitches and small grounds which favoured batsmen the wickets in the WI has been a testing ground of a batsmen's skills. Bowlers have been king. The Proteas don't have a star batsmen like a Kohli but they do have a captain with the smarts....Markrams captaincy is priceless. The Indian pace attack with Bumrah and Arshdeep is excellent, notice how they made the ball swing whereas the English pace bowlers unbelievably failed to do so. Just how is the wicket going to play...the simple answer is that at this point no-one knows. KG will get movement, length and line, MJ will get bounce.

Winning the toss will be a major plus.

We could finally win one of these things….nerves aside, we are a way better team than Afghanistan. India is a different story, but this is T20 where a team like Afghanistan can beat Australia in a one off.

It’s time for the Proteas to redeem themselves.

When I t hink about Great players like d e Villiers and we never got t the final in any T2o or 50 over tournament  we used to have and winning no world tournament - I wonder about how the present lot can c hang e the situation by using a team where we used some really poor performers in the series - I have serious prolems in predicting a Proteas victory in this case, Maybe Denny has a point.

In any event according to the bookmakers rate India as t he favourites to win the trophy and rate t he SA team as outsiders,     Despite the generous odds I would not put a cent on them winning today,

Not sure what point you're referring to Mike but the Bookies have it right....the Proteas are the underdogs. But you know it's said that cricket is a funny game and as I've said our better players will have to step up and we also need luck.

Anyone brave enough to predict a Protea win?

For the Proteas to have a chance they will have to get Rohit early in his innings, hope for Kohli to continue his poor form which might hopefully unsettle the nerves of their middle order. Batting wise our top order need to lay a platform in the powerplay.

The Proteas are going to have to come good both with the bat and the ball to win this final.

Not impossible but we need the players to understand the situation and to fire on all fronts.

But they have amazed me thus far, so they can pull it off.

Looking forward to the final.

India should go into their shells a little now. KG smartly bowling length now since India won't dare lose another wicket.

3 down for 34. Bowling length pays off for KG. Easy catch on the square leg boundary for Klaasen.

Klaasen does a Kholi and gets zero from the free hit. He seems to be middling it nicely though. 10 overs gone and just about halfway there for score. Normally being halfway there with 12 overs gone is about par. Stubb's innings put us back on track.
