IPL Player performances

I wonder whether we realized how lucky we are hat some players are not in the Protea squad.   So lets see why I am making thatstatement:

After a break in the IPL - the series was moved to the Gulf States and is back on.   The first two matches played had Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers playing.   So what happened with those two players :-

*    Faf in a opening batter - faced three balls and was out or a duck; and

*    AB was out for a duck first ball bowled at him.   

Unlike Mozart's mania about experience and age being a real requirement for selection the fact is that both were not up toi standard anymore and could play for IPL teams - but are not up to standard anymore when it comes to international cricket.     .   

In the meantime Markram in his first IPL match did quite well and was not out in a match won by his team.   Nortje was MOM for Deljhi capitals for taking two wickets  9 one of which was Warner's for a duck and in the process gave away  only 12 runs in 4 overs.   Then we have also Rabada taking 3 wckets in the match - but from a runs given away point of view he was extremely expensive.     

In today's game   De Kock made 54 runs facing  38 balls.  Very good performance.        

Markram seems to be settling in well, still think he's underperforming and that there's a lot more to him. Proteas are going to need him bigtime in the upcoming WC.
