I cannot remember how many runs made in the Australia series - but am sure it was not near to good enough.   He was out for 8 runs again today against Pakistan.   


Insofar as the shorter version of the game is concerned he did not get a single bit in the IPL to play cricket in India.  So I he still of value in cricket?

Mike, Amla is surely getting close to retirement, but ATM, there is nobody really making a claim for his spot.

Not really - there are some very promising players coming through.   I think of Van Tonder for instance.

There is another problem cropping up as well - what do they do with Duanne Olivier is al so a problem when Vernon Philander comes back.  Hew is already 33 years old and I cannot remember when last he had a good game - he has been off with injury way too often over the last three years,
