a line on how things will pan out on flat wickets in the Champion's Trophy. Personally, I've always believed that a good wicket is as close to an even contest between bat and ball but from what we've seen thus far the wickets are a batsmen's paradise. Gosh they're scoring 350+ runs in an ODI, a good enough score in a first innings of test cricket.
So then how now the Proteas.....without knowing the squad or team I'm going to step into the breach and say the Proteas have a good a chance as any other team depending on selections. The players that are crucial to their success.....Rickelton, van der Dussen, Klaasen, Jansen, Markram, Linde, Miller, Mulder and Rabada with useful contributions from Maharaj and Breetske if selected. The only weakness is a backup fast bowler to Rabada but it is what it is with injuries causing a major disruption at a crucial time.
Bavuma is not a white ball player he is a test player and so I hope commonsense prevails by leaving him off the squad.
