Much maligned by some, Klaasen produced the kind of innings we never get from de Ock…..one that actually wins the match. Not just a flashy start, but a sustained effort right through to the conclusion. I’m guessing those posters might want to correct their opinions.

As for Rickleton…I’m afraid the hysterical calls for this chappie to be immediately included in the Protea’s team were sadly deluded. A lot more work lies ahead and who knows if there’s anything there.

Unfortunately the younger players that have shown promise have mostly failed to produce the goods for their national teams.

Klassen's although getting up in years sure has produced some outstanding scores and as stated by mozart has rescued the team o n more than one game.

Klassen's Rossouw and Miller surely must be in the T20 games coming up.

Indeed, I watched the local T20 competition and Klaasen was easily in the top three in terms of clean striking and form. Throughout most of his time at the crease it looked like the bat was a foot wide. I like this chap. For me, he could captain the 50 and t20 sides. But Jansen is the standout. Bowling up front and then coming in to hit a cool 40 when the winning total was still a long way off. Giraffe 2.0 has got all the right stuff as far as i’m concerned. He’ll be raking in the dosh for the good while now at auctions because he’s looking the like the worlds premier all-rounder at this point.

Agreed...generational find.

I’m actually excited to watch him bat, Draad. He makes those long levels work for him, huh?

Well done Guys.

Never thought that they would get the runs to Beat the WI's.

Quinton was merciless in attacking the bowling from the very first ball bowled and one of his good games and an excellent opening partnership to set the platform for a win.

The WI's scored runs from a weak and poor bowling performance by the SA bowlers and clobbered them all around the ground with numerous boundaries.

Magala and Shamsi managed to get a TON between them and I for one cannot see what strength these two bowlers add to any bowling team other than meeting the ANC requirement for selection.

Some massive hits in that innings. One has to give it to Quintie. On his day, he’s frightening to bowl to. Top of off is still his weak spot and it baffles as to why teams don’t target him there more. Let’s keep our heads on though. This is the Windies. The most ill disciplined and low quality side of all the Tier 1 nations. They’re a banana peel.

Should have been caught at about 40 runs. Skied the ball out to square leg and the  fielder ran back instead of in to make what would have been a simple catch. Always dangerous against mediocre bowling on home fields. He was merciless from the first ball….which was a long hop outside leg stump.

??????

No positives from de Kock's knock.

Sure he like all players has his down side but this innings laid the foundation to the WIN without a doubt.

A pleasure to have been able to watch and enjoy the game plus the record setting chase.

Actually Hendricks was scoring at 2.43 runs a ball and Ock scored at  2.27 runs a ball. So why no mention of Hendricks setting up the win?

I guess because nobody twigged that Ock was getting the lion’s share of the strike. It was an enjoyable onslaught on some incredibly mediocre bowling. I’d get excited if I thought he could reproduce this kind of innings at a WC.

Hendricks also played a major part in setting up the win with a good performance.

mozart refer to my earlier posting in which I acknowledged the excellent opening partnership.

Thanks.
