I agree somewhat but when you have the three top batsman going for a song such as todays game changes need to be made pronto.
The three should be dropped and I suggest the following.
Easier said than done....question is who do you replace them with? To my knowledge we don't have the quality of players to replace them.
Bring in Mulder who is able to bat and bowl as well as Captain, and at least make some runs.
I'm not sure about Mulder, I see a player who's taken a long time to establish himself and still he's not the finished product.
Bring in Stubbs who is capable with the bat of late as the wicketkeeper.
Well, he's another disappointment, at best still trying to prove himself.
Whilst I agree about making a change I'm sober enough to say we don't have that luxury, I don't believe we have the cattle to make an improvement.
Markram is an underperformer, has had more chances than Methuselah with a triple bypass, threw his wicket away today, as did Quinton. The pair of them cost us today's game.
Look at Rickelton’s footwork—it’s like he’s glued to the crease.
The final selection should be one of the young batsman who can at least make a run or two.
And who would that be?
I might be hopelessly wrong but I've always believed that the South African domestic competition is of a poor quality. Just have a look at the selections to the national team then tell which one of those kick on or match their domestic achievements?
And I've always believed for a young talent to kick on he should play a season or two in English cricket....Matthew Breeztke is a fine example.
And oh by the way, none of the players you suggest are top order players.
Dewald Brevis, yet to be entertained as a red ball player, is a great talent but still only a white ball player.
