what's your opinion on David Wiese as the Protea ODI allrounder? At age 29 he might be a bit long in the tooth as a long term investment is my sinking feeling.

Unfortunately I hardly watch any domestic cricket Denny, so all I've seen of Wiese are a few T20 performances. Not enough to make a call either way.

The roleplayers are either declining to comment or can't be reached for comment at the moment. We'll see if anything official comes through from Lorgat and co later during the day or the rest of the week. Mantashe of the ANC is now bitching about Phangiso not getting any game time and is calling for even more transformation.

Phasingo's selection was another disgrace, everyone knew that he wasn't going to get game time.

The media is stirring the pot - but I think there are going to be other complications as well.   I suspect some institution(s) are going to take this case to the Human Rights Council and the Constitutional Court and even Sis Madontsela and that is where the  case would turn really nasty.
The Constitutional Court has already ruled this type of selection criteria based on race as unconstitutional and it may be the means to end this kind of BS.

As bad as the Phasingo selection was, it was pretty short sighted of the management not to give him a game against the likes of Ireland......these fools cant even get the basics right.......we see it with our rugby selections all the time.
