Pakistan gutted it out with a good last over win. The Proteas didn’t score enough on a ground that has averaged about 290. Klaasen held the innings together after a good opening partnership….but the scoring rate always looked iffy. Some terrific spin bowling from Ali Agha stopped our momentum, largely arm balls disguised by sharp turn most of the time.
Klaasen played a terrific mature innings, but couldn’t quite produce his usual pyrotechnics….apparently the ball was holding up a bit.
It’s hard to feel too confident about this Proteas team. The quality of an Amla, AB or Kallis just isn’t there. And the bowling attack seems a bit toothless.
