Going forward I'd invest in Rickleton and Jordan Hermann as the new openers across all formats.

Perhaps Brevis @3?

Brevis has done nothing recently to be selected.

Sure he is talented but going through a bad spell again this season.

Must admit I saw highlights of the Cape-PE game and both Rickleton and Hermann showed their class at bat.

Will be great opening pair if it ever happens.

Brevis made two 100’s in a row in the 4 day comp before the SA20 started He needs to be in the SA test side sooner than later along with Hermann

Looks like a good foundation to build on although it might mean one or the other might open. But that sorted a new look team would consist of the following....

1) Brevis(opener or #3)

 Rickelton (opener or 3)

Hermann(opener or 3)

4) Da Sauce

5) Markram

6) ????

7) Jansen

The attack pretty much selects itself be it all pace or with a balanced attack which includes a spinner

8) Rabada

9) Nortje

10) Nandre Burger

11) Gerald Coetzee( Maharaj/ George Linde)

I’d go: 1. Harmann 2. Rickelton 3. Brevis 4. Markram (c) 5. v Tonder 6. de Swardt 7. Verreynne 8. Jansen 9. Maharaj 10. Rabada 11. Nortje With Ngidi, Coetzee, Mulder, Richards, Breeztske and Bird in the squad. Sipamla, Stubbs and Esterhuizen are others Except for Rickelton who is 27 the rest of my new additions are 25 and under

Dave, two keepers in the team.

Of the two I prefer Rickelton.

Brevis failed yet again this morning. not sure that he has earned a placed of late in the team.

As for the  team you have pretty much captured the best of the rest.

As far as I know the captain must be other than pale.....am I correct or does that rule apply only for rugby.

If that is the case then a spot will have to be found for Bavuma I would think.

Yes Brevis failed again, clearly he has some issues. I warned about the weight of expectancy hanging over his head, he had the world at his feet last year but now that has been replaced with the weight of expectancy. I had another look at how he got out, the way he played is typical of a player out of form, his feet didn't go anywhere and one can argue that the ball stayed low and around his ankles but that to me looks like a form and lack of confidence issue.

In time he'll get over it he has youth on his side.

I’m not bothered with Brevis failing by being caught out on the boundary in a few no merit 20/20 game We need to judge him playing 4 day cricket where building an innings is the measure and of late he has produced the goods I like Verreynne he is a fighter. We can’t have Rickelton opening and keeping wicket in a test Mulder agreed he keeps failing his hype so I guess it gets to point when you have to throw in the towel on him

I don't know how anyone can survive not being negatively affected regardless of what format they play when in their last 5 innings they've scored less than 10 runs. It gets kinda low, lonely and desperate......confidence is everything at any level of sport.

The important thing is how it impacts on him. We tend to forget that at 20 yrs of age he's still a kid.
