I used my Wildcard and it still was below our previous average performance. I never worry about myself - am much more interested about how our League does.
Thus far our weekly score is as follows :-
Total score = 5195Average score = 371

Scores could still go up. How are we doing in relation to other leagues? That is the key question.

What is interesting this week iro other Fantasy competition I participate in is that I had the most dismal scores this year in Test Rugby as well as Dream Team (NZ Herald) - yet in both competition my world ranking went up. In the case of Test Rugby it went up from 141 to 114 and in the case of Dream Team from 81 to 79.
What that shows is that in the relevant competitions all high-scoring participants had a bad week. I think in the case of Foxsport the same scenario may have happened - so we will have to see what happens later today - when Foxsport results are finalized.
Incidentally in the high scoring round 7, I had the dismal points at 435. I think that Saffex and I were the only participants in our league that thus far this week increased our points compared to what we achieved last week.

The final results for Round 8 has been announced and the point allocations have - where necessary - been changed
We are still no 10 in the League competition and I am very happy about that one.

In our league although we didn't do so well in round 8 we scored more points than 4 of the other teams in the top 10 so that's not so bad.

Incidentally - it was not only our points that went down - others did equally badly. Even though my points were not all that wonderful - I went from position 465 on the overall leaderboard to position 228.

I had 369, Having you captain sit out at the last minute hurts. This week will be even tougher as 9 of my last starting line up are having byes.

Can I give you a bit of early advice. I have already made four provisional changes to my team - bearing in mind the byes this week and the Lions bye next week:-
Got rid of the following:-
Motu Matu'uAaron CrudenS-B WilliamsCoenie Oosthuizen
Brought on board
Stephen MooreHandre PollardHuw Jones - cost saving measureVincent Koch
If there are no team changes - my team for the week will be the following:-
PR Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch
HO Stephen Moore
LO Eben Etzebeth, Sam Whitelock/Grant Hattingh *
BR David Poc ock, Michaeel Hooper, W arren Whiteley
SH Cobus Reinach
FH Handre Pollard
CE Samu Kerevi, Damian de Allende
OB Israel Folau, Nemani Nadolo, Jesse Kriel.
I am hesitating between Whitelock and Hattingh - in the big win game of the Crusaders - up against the two worse locks in SA - he was non-productive.

I hold thumbs for you - do not know what points Romano scored in his last game - but Whitelock did not produce much in the game against the Sharks. I would not trust either Slade or Romano to produce much in the Highlanders game, after travelling from SA for that game.
I thought of changing Whiteley at one stage and would have changed Kerevi - but the opponents the Lions plays against and the Reds team are so miserable that at least Whiteley may shine in that game. I do not expect much from Kerevi and if I had enough transfers I would have changed him too for Fekitoa. He will be gone in the next round in any event.
What bothers me about my past selections were the position of Williams - he is in the team as announced and then did not play at all and ended up not playing - he played and was not really of much value against the Stormers, has an occasional good game, but his performance record is a jigsaw puzzle. Does not like to use a player like that in the fantasy selections and am unlikely to bring him back into my team this tournament. In any event he is too expensive.
I feel uneasy about the Stormers- Waratahs game on Saturday. It could be a low scoring event - not good for fantasy point scoring. It is unlikely that there would be another incompetent referee like Hoffman being involved in that match, so it might be a grinder in which players like the loosies and De Allende score well. However, I will not make the final selections before the teams have been finally announced and before I have checked the International Weather Forecast.
Just a bit of advice - Carter is likely to be back as the Crusaders flyhalf and that could be a problem insofar as Slade is concerned. Maybe you should think of Sopoaga at flyhalf if you cannot afford Pollard.

It depends entirely on what you have on your bench? Have you used your Wildcard yet? If not use it this coming round.
I did not mind about Williams not playing on Saturday since I had De Allende on the bench and he scored very well at 40 points. As indicated in my previous posts I am going to steer clear of Williams in future he is too expensive for my liking in any event.
Hope you can juggle around your team successfully this coming round.
By the way after starting off rather cheaply - Pollard and De Allende are becoming over-prized as well. Pollard went up in price by nearly $200 000 and De Allende by nearly $150 000

Mike, unfortunately I used my wildcard a while ago.
The best I can come up with at the moment is
Kock, Hohneck
Mann-Rea
Romano, Whitelock
Hooper, Todd, Vaea
Groom
Foley
Fekitoa, Mnisi (A money pick from round 1 who is getting his first start)
Folau, Marais, Carraro.
Have a few in Mann-Rea and Vaea who wont start but hopefully pick up a few points. See what happens.

There has been only one team announcement yet and for your sake I hope that your bench players all end up in starting line-ups. That is all I can say - good luck to you.
