FDP and Amla appear to be doing the right thing...not going for boundaries yet until they find themselves settling in. Quinton went out on the first ball on the fourth over after 3 boundaries from the first 3 overs...going for it too soon with Holder.

If these 2 can get gradual momentum and get going and build a good partnership then it will be a good score...I only hope that middle order will be able to add and not choke.

It was a good decision to bat first...Sydney has short grass/ flat pitch...batsmen wicket...but the last side to bat...the pitch can sometimes favour the bowling side...seamers/swing and even spin if breaks up.

However, if pitch does not break up...WI could get going and heaven forbid if Ga yle comes to life. WI can chase.

PS. Crumbs, why is Chris's surname an edited and forbidden name on this forum...have to type Ga yle instead of Gayle...ridiculous...and Wallaby flanker Poc ock...his name too Pocock.

I'm impressed with Rossouw's performance too...he is doing his job and has come to the party...taken a bit of pressure off...Amla and FDP did their job reasonably well...the middle order is still vulnerable but will not have an excuse...will 300 odd runs be enough though...the problem here is we don't know with the unpredictable Windies...if CG comes the party and the rest bat reasonably well...the huge pressure will be on our bowlers...it will require good bowling on a Sydney pitch.

Well it is looking good...doubt if the present Windies side have the ammo to beat this score...even if Ga yle gets another double century, which I doubt even on a batting wicket...the rest have to maintain his momentum which they are not capable of, our bowling has just got to be steady and consistent and pin the pressure, no great shakes are needed...not with this score just too much to chase.

Mamma mia, brilliant AB. I enjoyed every second of his innings. What a performance.

AB is just class at times...but well done to the others who did their job...even though a great batting wicket.

West Indies have to go for a cracker and with more luck than is feasable but records are there for the taking and all that's needed is responsible controlled bowling from SA.

If Ga yle goes within 15 overs then it's overs skid dovers.

WI batsmen in an impossible position now. 10 overs gone and 47 runs. G ayle gone.
But Protea bowlers need to enure WI havea hard time and NRR improves dramatically

I see also that Tahir took 5 for 45 his best ODI haul.Dr Moz will probabaly complain that Ab was dropped latter in his innings and it was only the WI.
