His innings today just underlies what a gifted, talented bat he is. He has every shot in the book and executes with elegance. So the question is why has he under achieved so. He is naturally more gifted than most but has failed to be the batting force he should have been. Others that spring to mind are Ashwell Prince, Rillee Rossouw, Neil McKenzie, Jacques Rudolph, Stiaan v Zyl and JP Duminy Very frustrating and now it’s almost too late for Bavuma

David

I think that Bavuma has the best technique in the current Protea setup. (thats a very subjective topic for another thread)

I think the political pressure may have gotten the best of TB.

I mean the way he started was phenomenal.

But over time, external pressures erode and gnaw at one's mind.

If he can free himself of those shackles, I think he'll end up averaging above 40 in tests. He certainly has the technique.

I'm glad he finally opened up (see cricinfo) on the political issues he faces.

I was one of many that said "drop him". But the way he batted yesterday confirms that he certainly can score at the highest level.

Whats with the two of you.

Is there some kind of love affair going on between you two?
