In an article I read just now - the forecasted that the two pace bowlers were to be Ngidi and Nortje  with Stuurman. Pretorius and Hendrils being in the run for the third seamer position,   They then went on to say Super Kak Hendriks is the front-runner for selection.

First of all in the recent game where a player test positive to the virus Hendriks were involved and Stuurman were not,  Then when it became clear that one of the bowlers in the squad tested positive ad SAC then brought Migael Pretorius into the squad,   That was followed a day later by the inclusion of Sipamla as fast bowler.  

Stuurman and Pretorius had the best bowling record in the present domestic series in SA - so in normal circumstances the situation is that the order for selection for fast bowlers would be -

1   Stuurman

2   Pretorius

3   Sipamla

However, Stuurman is already 28 years old aad to start a test at that age is not a longer term prospect case at all and I would say the choice should be between -

1   Pretorius

2   Sipamla

If as suspected the other virus case in the batting Department is Bavuma - the quota system would result in Sipamla being picked, despite the fact that his domestic record was far below those  Stuurman and Pretorius.

With a view to the future my pick would be Pretorius.

So I as right about  Hendriks being one of the two positive cases - but the other one was not Bavuma, but Keegan Petersen,   I consequently apologize for the latter misinterpretation.  What I still do not understand  is why Van Tonder was brought in to replace a middle  order batsman as Petersen is a  batting al-rounder so bringing in Dwayne Pretorius was to replace Petersen and Sipamla was  brought in to replace Hendriks,

But why bring in Van Tonder if there is not an intention to play him in the tests itself,   Bavuma is a quota-protected player - so will Van Tonder replace Van der Dussen?   Will have to see what happens when the team is announced,
