batting is running true to form, there's nothing new to add, some here knew what to expect from Elgar and Dassie but to be fair Keegan Peterson was a surprise. Then again miracles in cricket are few and far between. Let's hope for a good start to the careers of Verrey nne and Jansen.

Imagine if Petersen had been caught on 12, our total would have been below India’s Verreynne got a start but failed to push on

Ja, the dropped catch by the Indian wickie was identical to the one Quinton dropped in the first test.

Petersen looks surprisingly good. Very nice technique. Hope he goes on to bigger things now. Vacuums must also be given credit. He held our innings together a few times in the series.

I hadn’t seen this kid before and I agree Flash  he looks elegant without any obvious issues. I guess he is one of the players accused of being a quota pick, but he seems as good a prospect as Verrynne who has enjoyed huge support.

Petersen must be a late bloomer as he is 28 and does not have a great FC record

I read or heard somewhere that Jacques Kalis rates him very highly (Peterson). ..singled him out as the bat with the best technique in the country.

at this stage Perersen;s average as a test batsman is less than 25 and before he can be rated as a basman it has to go above 40.  Would eb hard since no0ne of  Van der dussen, Elgar, Bacvuma and Markram is above 40 on average.
The hard fact is that SA  batting is way below standard and has been since 2018.    .

Thanks Denny. Not stellar, but not terrible over the last couple of seasons either.
