....clearly de Kock is a deer in the headlights now, but he has the ability to make a big score, so maybe in the absence of a better alternative you keep him. But so far Klaasen has been a better alternative. So give Klaasen the gloves and bat de Kock at 6 and see if he can recover some batting form, Bavuma and the chappie they had in the last test could be discarded.

Because you are unequalled when it comes to cricket as is the case also in respect of rugby.  The question should rather be why not the replacing of Amla or Duy Plessis when it comes to abttimng failure.

So lets see how they stand at present after the second innings:

Elgar      -      156

De Villiers  -  125

Markram     -    84

De Kock      -   68

Amla            -  62

Du Plessis   -   27

Bavuma       -    6

So now you want Klaasen in and let him keep.   I would keep De Kocj where he is and bring in some batters to strengthen he team.   Klaasen is good in the shorter version of the gam - not in tests,    There are better batsmen like Erwee and De Bruin who has much better cricket stats than Klaasen

I would rather drop Amla as well.   Those crucial missed catches at getting to be a real problem.

How about dropping de Villiers as well....he missed Lyon when he had hardly scored. And how about dropping de Kock for his botched stumping chance on Warner. As for de Bruyn he scored 58 in 2 tests ....looking like a deer in the headlights. Good stuff Tokkie, your usual intelligent contribution.

I look at runs scored and the rate t which runs are scored when it comes to batting.   So what is De Kock's average in the three tests thus far and that of Amla and  Du Plessis?

De Kock     -    37

Amla           -    25,5

Du Plessus  -     17,7

So you have an issue with De Kock - but not with Amla and Du Plessis.   You remain a farce whenever discussing rugby or cricket.
