As per normal cricket in SA is in crisis and this time it is again caused by Covid 19,   The problem arose that in two 3 day matches played the past week there were two matches played and the situation was as follows:-

*   On Monday a game between the Dolphins and the Titans were abandoned after the first innings of the Titans when one of the Dolphins players tested positive for Covid 19.   There were 5 of the Protea squad members in that game.

*   In another completed game between the Eagles and the Lions there were another positive test of a Lions player on the final day of the match and another five squad members were involved in that game as well.

All the squad members will be tested again before they go into the bubble on 20 December 2020 and lets hope there are no positive cases found.

What made me think that positive case was Beuren Hendriks???????????

This is ridiculous and stupid.    Two players in the Proteas squad tested positive  for Covid 19 tested positive and will not enter the bio-bubble facility,   Why is this such a secret?   The public needs to know who they were to get some clarity as to potential team selection for the upcoming test.

I already suspect that one positive tests were Beuren Hendrioks or Sturrman - hence the inclusion of  Pretorius in the squad.    In any event nobody will condemn any player who are tested positive - they would rather prefer to support the players from a human perspective,

The other positive case must be a batsman  - since Raymond van Tonder was added to the squad already.   The positive test would be from the Lions or the Dolphins - so the batsmen involved could be one of Bavuma, Van der Dussen or Erwee - but I suspect a middle order batsman, otherwise they would not have added Van Tonder to the squad - so the likely positive would be between Bavuma and Van der Dussen,

Two other players were  subsequently added to the squad as well - namely Pretorius as an all-rounder snd Sipamla as bowler.- but it is very unlikely that either would in fact play.     .

The second wave of infection is hitting SA hard - and that is in the middle of summer.   Our  Government messed up again.  They were supposed to make a $22 million deposit and signing the necessary agreement on vaccine delivery by 15 December 2020 - but failed to do so,   So the private sector kicked in and paid the deposit and nobody knows when the agreement involving  $1,24 billion would be signed by the Government - so the delivery of the vaccine to SA will be delayed even further.

The above will cover the delivery of vaccine for circa 10% of the population - ie for about 6 million people - but based on experience  one can be sure that the allocations will be another basis for bribery and corruption - together with a healthy dose of racialism included.

Incidentally in the Hessequa Municipality comprising Riversdale and six other  towns with a total population of about 55 000 people there were 50 active cases 14 days ago - now there are 74.   You cannot enter any building without a mask and without having your hands sanitized and your temperature tested,   There has apparently been no deaths  from the virus in the area, but all beaches will be closed and the area is going to suffer a major financial loss iro tourism in the present holiday season, from which it will not recover economic well-being within ten years.
