Chelsea are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips on Substack. The report has claimed that Chelsea have the England international striker on their radar, even though the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are fully aware that it is not going to be easy to get a deal done.
Watkins scored 15 goals and gave six assists in 36 Premier League starts for Villa last season. The England international has made 109 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The striker has scored 40 goals and given 13 assists in those games.
Chelsea will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season. Villa could also try to finish in the UEFA Champions League places.
