FIFA WC Day 7

Portugal managed just one goal despite holding 80% possession in the first half. Their play felt repetitive, almost like they were just going through the motions. They could be more effective by increasing their tempo in and around the box and committing an extra player or two to the goal-scoring area. There's not a great deal of tactical smarts in their game. The player who headed the goal for Congo should think of a career in basketball, I swear he must have been 6ft off the ground!

Portugal very disappointing. A lot of people have been talking of them winning this thing but on that performance they have zero chance.

I think Ronaldo is half the problem. He's not the player he was but his team mates are always looking for him and they'd be better off bringing him off the bench later in games.

Next up is England vs Croatia.

Come on England!

England get a dodgy penalty. Kane misses but gets to re-take because the keeper came off his line.

Croatia equalise a few minutes later before Kane sends in a clinical header to restore the lead, only for Musa to equalise on the stroke of half time.

2-2. Good game!

2nd half kicks off and almost immediately Jude Bellingham scores a brilliant solo goal.

3-2.

Fantastic double save by the keepr denies England a 4th. Have to say England are well worth this lead . . . they should be ahead by more.

Still 3-2.

Croatian keeper Livakovic keeping them in it. Another great save. It's all England though.

Gong to watch the replay of the England game, had to get some sleep after watching the Portugal game.

Colombia 3-1 Uzbekistan

Great game England ... my 4th favourite behind SA NZ Ireland

Watched a couple of replays.....England vs Croatia was a good game, England looks the real deal, I like their composure and energy, they slow it down and speed it up out of choice.

Iran showed a fighting and a competitive attitude, the long range goal was a missile launched from outside the box.
