Newcastle United are interested in signing Pau Torres from Villarreal in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Torres is one of the main centre-backs that Newcastle are looking at pairing with Sven Botman for the short and the long term.
Torres is one of the best centre-backs in La Liga and has been playing well for Villarreal for a number of years. The Spain international has come through the Villarreal youth system and is at the top of his game at the moment at the age of 25.
Villarreal are a big club in Spain, but Newcastle the hugely wealthy owners in Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). If the Premier League club make a big offer for the 25-year-old in the January transfer window, then the La Liga outfit could well sell him now.
