It was a shame for Argentina in that a blatant dive undid them. The strange thing is France, a team that, over the past two World Cups, hasn't produced compressively good football. It makes one wonder about the state of the game. I've been considering similar things regarding rugby. The overall quality isn't there. We are looking at teams at the top of the sport that are not actually producing good quality production. Argentina are the anomaly today though, in that they have been solid throughout. Given the circumstances that turned the game, I think this'll be the last time I follow the sport. When the stakes are high enough my interest can be peaked, but this was a but anticlimactic for me. Will the sport see its first worthy champion since 2010?
