Mpape is overrated. France were awful. The better team won, and Messi comprehensively outclassed the arrogant and lazy pretender.

Well was that team even France? Once Griesman and Giroud departed it seemed, apart from Lloris, all of the players were African immigrants. Don’t young Frenchmen play the game anymore.

The French found success since 2018 not by playing great solid football, but by being clinical. They are a shaky looking side who often get dominated and rattled at the back. T hey were up against a brick wall. This French side is so far away from the quality of the 1998 side. It's quite amazing that these patchwork teams get so far. The minnows are better than ever, but the top end doesn't have the quality of old. Interesting times. Agreed on Giroud, he was the main man throughout this tournament for France. Loris is pretty brave in goal. Griezman is the brains, but I don't think he is the great master of say a Pirlo et al.

The minute Argies took the foot off the gas the frogs came back.

What a great final.

That dive in the box was a horrible advert for the game. That turned things somewhat. The French were lucky not to receive more cards, but when things weren't going their way, they dived a lot, and that forces defenders to stand off a bit. It's a terrible problem in he game for a long time, and it's very, very easy to identify 99% of the time. This'll sting Mpape, who bought into his own hype too early. He will never be a great of the game. He wants to leave PSG, after all the power they gave him, like a little dictator of the club, he should stay there. I think life outside the French league will be too harsh for his ego.
