West Ham United are interested in signing Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. It has been reported that West Brom have told Johnstone that they will consider bids for him in the New Year, and Premier League club Wes Ham are considering making a move for him.
Lukasz Fabianski is the first-choice goalkeeper at West Ham at the moment, but the Pole is 36 years of age now. The former Arsenal goalkeeper is also out of contract at the Hammers at the end of the season. Alphonse Areola joined West Ham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021.
Johnstone is one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship and is also an England international. The 28-year-old goalkeeper is at the top of his game and would be a brilliant signing for West Ham, not just for now, but in the long run as well.
