These vaccines were produced quickly for sure. But maybe the old tedious slow production of vaccines is the thing at fault. What Einstein law says it has to take three years.
Trump sussed that out and demanded fast action. We got it and now have these vaccines which have been taken in the hundreds of millions. Yes there a few rare cases out there of people with an adverse effect. But the risk of that is minuscule compared to the risk of dying of Covid.
The more people wait the more Indias and Indonesias we will have. Each with the risk of generating a variant which pivots away from the vaccines.
Think of the covid world as South America when Europeans arrived….totally unprotected against diseases kids shake off over night. It’s totally nuts to refuse protection.

For me, I'm happy with the figures as they stand.
But I'm still on the fence in terms of what they'll look like in a year or three.
Hopefully, the vaccines do work out and there are no long term side effects.
Until some time has passed, I can't say I'm happy to take it.
...And I do understand that if there were more people like me then the virus would have more opportunity to mutate.
Honestly, I feel a bit shitty about the stance I'm taking and I tend to over think things but at the same time, I'm not comfortable just yet to declare the vaccines safe in the long run.
It's weird because in an emergency or if a friend's in danger, I've never hesitated to take a risk. But here's something that I've had much time to think about and yet I'm not happy with either side of the fork in the road ahead of me.
