Lovely contest,,,one of the best...Novak is king of tennis in Oz. I really got quite emotion able about his lovely speech afterwards...another great character in tennis...a true sportsman. Dominic also impressed...a refreshing battle between 2 great guys.

Mike,so what give a little leeway for a great event. Who really cares under what category heading it appears...it was such a game that can be shouted from the roof tops.It is only Rooinek and Shark that worries about trivial matters and blows a fuse

Dr Moz an all time great 33 year old can beat, if only just, a good 26 year old.

However a great 2 year old will in all likelihood beat a great 32 year old.

Neither Doks or Nadal will match the level of play produced by Federer at 38 when they are that age.

"However a great 2 year old will in all likelihood beat a great 32 year old."
Baboon-ou's sporting knowledge summed up in a single sentence.

No I do not want to have another false narrative to gain currency on site,   In the last six matches Thiem played against Djokovic - he beat the latter in 4 such matches.    So it is rather a paradox that Djokovic beat him in a five sets after being behind two sets to one.   Mozart is using this as ano ther example of advancing his arguments  as to why aging does not affect performance in any sport,

Wanker.....all of Thiem’s wins  over the Joker were on clay. You do know the difference I hope. Except for the 3 set ATP finals. The old guys prefer the 5 set format where their superior fitness comes into play.

In London.....

The Season Finale
The Nitto ATP Finals is the year-end climax to the ATP Tour season. The event, which features only the world's best eight qualified singles players and doubles teams, is contested in a round-robin format with the best four players and doubles teams reaching the knockout semi-finals stage. The prestigious tournament has been contested in major cities around the world, with a rich history dating back to the birth of The Masters in Tokyo (1970). In 2009, the tournament moved to its current home in London, where it will be played through 2020. For more information, please visit www.NittoATPFinals.com.
